Crunchie
Well, 2007 has turned into a bad year, and this week really has pushed us to our limits. Chrunchie was the forth ferret to decide to cross the Rainbow Bridge this year.
Chrunchie, was our beautiful Black eyed White ferret with the softest fur in the world. After living 3 months with a heart murmur, and having a second child hood when she started the medication, it looks like she died of a broken heart after loosing Buffy.
When we got together, we decided that it would be nice to have some ferrets that were ours, rather than the current his and hers. We went to the RSPCA, to look at what they had, and spotted Crunchie. She was probably a "Silver" ferret, but was so light, she looks like a Black Eyed White. She came to the front of the cage, and used those beautiful Black eyes to check us over. We got her out, and she had the softest fur ever. While Clive had a cuddle with Her, Suz was cuddling her Cage mate, Malteaser.
She was initially handed in to the RSPCA, then someone took her home, but later returned both her and Malteaser. When we first met her, Clive did a very silly thing while looking at her, and put her too near to his face. She took offence to this, and showing him the only way she could, she bit his nose, hard, infact, very hard. She was put away, and Clive was taken to the First Aid room, to try and stem the flow of blood.
The people at the RSPCA could not believe that we still wanted to take both her and Malteaser home, after such a bad bite. We explained that we were the bad ones putting a ferret so close to such a scary face, especially when she did not know us
Once home, she became a special monster, who was very candid with her kisses, but if one was earned, it was a real smacker. She was a Sock monster, and mastered the art of being able to remove one of Suz's socks by the toe, while travelling past at 90MPH, with out actually touching the skin. Having said that, if you ignored her, and she wanted you to play, she thought nothing of giving your toes a good nip to remind you she was there, and as you shouted, she would weasel war dance off laughing.
We taught her how to walk on a lead, and after a short period of terror of being outside, she came round, and really loved to get out, although, she was not too keen on strange people fussing her.
In August 2007, during her annual trip to the vets for their CD jabs, it was discovered that she had a heart murmur. From them on, she was permanently on tablets, which she always seemed to think were a treat, and took them with no problems, even reminding us, if we forgot to give it to her.
Like all fuzzies, she was very special, but her dark eyes, super soft fur, gorgeous face, pure evil sense of humour, and her ability to make us feel special, will always give her a special place in our hearts.

black smudge on nose. Medium Size. Likes cuddles, but may nip if put close to face of people she does not know. Scared when first taken out on lead, and can panic, but will settle when coaxed. Will chase feet.
