Why do Ferrets need Rescuing?
Part 2
So they now have a 6 month old bundle of teeth, that smells.
Usually, at this point, the current owner often get bored or fed up with the kit and if it is lucky, want to get rid of it.
Sometimes, they just leave it in the Cage, and forget about it. (Please see Rolo‘s Story)
Other times, they are cruel to it, and try to hurt it back, when it nips. (Please see Tigger‘s Story)
If they are reasonably responsible, they take it to a Ferret Rescue, or try to find someone else to take it off of them. Some just let it go into the wild. Ferrets can not live in the wild in the UK, and get various parasites, which cause infection, and in a relatively short time, kill the ferret. That‘s assuming it does not get killed by a dog, run over or it‘s curiosity gets it somewhere dangerous.
The lucky ones are found by nice people, and arrangements are made for them to be rescued, the unfortunate ones either die, or get found by people who find it “Fun” to inflict pain on animals, and these usually get killed or maimed. (Please see Stumpy Jack‘s Story)
