Stumpy Jack’s Story

In 2002 a young ferret was wandering around, lost and homeless. He spotted a group of children and decided to see if they would help him. Unfortunately for him, they decided to use him as a football instead. As if this was not cruel enough, they then set him on fire, “for fun”.

Luckily for that Ferret, A man named Billy saw this and chased his torturers away. He then took the ferret home and set to work trying to nurse him back to health. The ferret lost his tail, and part of his leg, so Billy decided to call him “Stumpy Jack”. Owing to the fear and extreme pain, Stumpy bit Billy several times, but Billy always forgave Stumpy, and carried on nursing him, and trying to return his faith in Humans.

Because of Billy‘s kindness and knowledge of ferrets, Stumpy Jack is once more fit and healthy. He now lives with John and helps to raise funds for food and medication for other homeless and unwanted ferrets like him, who need care and love for their remaining years.

Because of Both Billy‘s kindness, and John‘s continued love, Stumpy has once again learned to trust us humans, and despite only having Three and three-quarter legs, and no tail, he has a big loving heart.
